Jericho was the first city for the people of God to conquer when they entered the Promised Land. The people of Jericho knew that God had given the Israelites the land because they had heard stories of their previous victories (see Josh. 2:10).
Here’s what Rahab from Jericho said regarding these testimonies:
“And as soon as we heard these things, our hearts melted; neither did there remain any more courage in anyone because of you, for the LORD your God, He is God in heaven above and on earth beneath.” (Josh. 2:11)
The hearts of the people of Jericho melted when they heard of God’s work among His people, and they lost all courage to fight against God’s people. True testimonies of God’s miracles among His people brings the fear of God to the world.
It’s time for the church to earn the world’s respect by pressing in to experience God’s miracles!
