“But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.” (Hebrews 5:14)
Those able to receive spiritual meat (solid food) are those who have become mature spiritually, who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil. Spiritual maturity comes to those who by reason of use consistently practice spiritual disciplines. Spiritual maturity comes to those who have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil – who consistently exercises their spiritual discernment – to discern both good and evil, not just evil.
To what degree do you consistently exercise your spiritual senses? Do you process life primarily through your natural or spiritual senses? This discernment is a major part of our protection from deception! Are you ready for solid food?
