“And what more shall I say? For the time would fail me to tell of Gideon and Barak and Samson and Jephthah, also of David and Samuel and the prophets: who through faith subdued kingdoms, worked righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, became valiant in battle, turned to flight the armies of the aliens. Women received their dead raised to life again…” (Heb. 11:32-35a)
Many of the Old Testament heroes had incredible testimonies of how they responded to the life challenges they faced. Through faith they subdued kingdoms, they obtained promises, they stopped the mouths of lions, they quenched the violence of fire, they escaped the edge of the sword, they became valiant in battle, they turned to flight the armies of the aliens, women received their dead raised to life again. What are you doing with your faith? How are you responding to life’s challenges? Remember, we live under a better covenant based on better promises (Heb. 8:6)!
