“looking carefully lest anyone fall short of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up cause trouble, and by this many become defiled;” (Heb. 12:15)
We’re called by God to not allow any root of bitterness to spring up in us. Roots of bitterness cause trouble and bring defilement (see also Deut. 29:18). Do you have a root of bitterness? This bitterness can be towards someone who has hurt you or even God. This bitterness can also be the result of besetting sins. If you have a root of bitterness, cut it off by the power of Jesus Christ!
