Mark’s Memos

" Contentment or Covetousness? "
August 27, 2026

“Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” (Hebrews 13:5)

Covetousness is being discontent with what you have and lusting after what someone else has. Contentment is being satisfied with what you have. Contentment doesn’t mean you never want anything, but it does mean you will be content whether or not you ever get what you want. True contentment is based on our relationship with God and His abiding presence with us. You can be content because He promised to never leave us or forsake us. Are you covetous or content?
