After exhorting us to run with the endurance the race of faith (Heb. 12:1), and to keep our eyes on Jesus (Heb. 12:2), the author of Hebrews writes: “For consider Him who endured such hostility from sinners against Himself, lest you become weary and discouraged in your souls. You have not yet resisted to bloodshed, striving against sin.” (Heb. 12:3-4)
Follow the example of Jesus’ endurance. What have you really suffered compared to Him? If He gave His life for you, what are you willing to give for Him? Have you so resisted against sin to the degree that you have literally shed your own blood in the battle? When you consider Him, you have much more you can give!
