“Furthermore, we have had human fathers who corrected us, and we paid them respect. Shall we not much more readily be in subjection to the Father of spirits and live?” (Heb. 12:9)
A good father properly disciplines His children. Not being properly disciplined by a parent is a sign of that parent neglecting parental responsibility. Those who were property disciplined eventually respect their parents for it. How much more should we respect the correction of the Lord, even though it is unpleasant at the time?
