“Now no chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but painful; nevertheless, afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.” (Heb. 12:11)
Chastening isn’t pleasant at the time, but, if we respond properly, it leads to a more peaceful and righteous life. Chastening is painful, but rather than being destructive it is constructive. Discipline is training for life success! Rather than focusing on the pain of chastening, focus on the benefits!
