“But who can endure the day of His coming? And who can stand when He appears? For He is like a refiner’s fire And like launderer’s soap. He will sit as a refiner and a purifier of silver; He will purify the sons of Levi, And purge them as gold and silver, That they may offer to the LORD An offering in righteousness.” (Mal. 3:2-3)
God’s holy presence is like a refiner’s fire and like launderer’s soap. His fire washes, cleanses and purifies. When gold is submitted to fire, the dross – the impurities come to the surface so they can be skimmed off, leaving a purer quality of gold. Fire doesn’t create the impurities but rather exposes them. Will you allow God’s refiner’s fire to expose your impurities? Will you then respond with repentance and come out further refined?
