“By faith Noah, being divinely warned of things not yet seen, moved with godly fear, prepared an ark for the saving of his household, …” (Hebrews 11:7)
By faith Noah built an ark. God counted Noah’s obedience as faith. There had never been a flood before, so faith took Noah outside the realm of what he’d previous seen or experienced. Faith may take you outside the realm of what you’ve previously seen or experienced! Like with Noah, faith may require you to use your own resources (and/or trust God to provide those resources). It probably took close to 75 years to build the ark, and Noah and his family were in the ark for about a year. Faith is more of a marathon than a sprint. Faith may require us to put up with some smelly chores or situations! Faith is not believing God to do for us what we can do for ourselves. Faith should not be something we exercise only for ourselves, but also for others.
