“By faith he [Abraham]dwelt in the land of promise as in a foreign country, dwelling in tents with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise; for he waited for the city which has foundations, whose builder and maker is God.” (Hebrews 11:9-10; Gen. 12:5; 13:12; Acts 7:4-5)
By faith Abraham dwelt in the land of promise, without ever possessing any of the land he was promised, except his burial plot! Faith at times involves holding your ground even when it feels like you’re not making any progress. Abraham was looking past the land of Canaan, to an even greater inheritance – The New Jerusalem! Sometimes our faith is fighting more for future generations than for our present one!
