“Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,” (Heb. 12:1)
In light of the previous examples in Hebrews 11 of Old Testament saints who walked by faith, let’s follow their example and endure the race of faith, especially in the light of the fact that we’re now living under a better covenant based on better promises (Rom. 8:6)! To effectively run an endurance race, one must shed excess baggage. Is there some excess baggage in your spiritual life that you need to shed in order to run the race of faith with endurance?
