" Reach Out and Touch Someone! "
December 30, 2021

“And on some have compassion, making a distinction; but others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire, hating even the garment defiled by the flesh.” (Jude 1:22-23)

Jude exhorts us to reach out to others who are struggling with their faith. Notice that Jude tells us to reach out to two different types of people struggling with their faith, and that each one requires a different approach.

?1. Be Compassionate Towards those who need Compassion (v. 22).
These are likely those who’ve been exposed to these apostates but haven’t yet fallen into dangerous errors. They are weak in their faith and therefore somewhat vulnerable. This kind of person responds best to being shown compassion. Will you?

?2. Be Confrontational Towards those who need Confrontation (v. 23).
While some primarily need compassion, others need a more direct, confrontational approach. This is referring to those who have already been led astray by these apostates. This should be done with the fear [reverence] of God (2Cor. 5:11). We should do whatever we can to save them from hell. We should hate sin while loving the sinner. We should make sure we don’t participate in their sin. Will you do this?
