The people of God left Elim and continued their journey through the wilderness to the Promised Land. In spite of their unbelief and complaining, God did rain bread [“manna”] down from heaven to provide for them. (Exodus 16) God told them to gather only enough for each day and not to leave any overnight. When some disobeyed the manna bred worms and stank. They were told to gather twice as much the day before the Sabbath so they wouldn’t have to gather on the Sabbath. Some went out to gather on the Sabbath and found no manna.
When will we trust and believe God? Today we need daily manna from heaven – God’s Word (Matt. 4:4). God wants to bring you provision from heaven (Phil. 4:19)! Will you pass the test? Will you trust and obey God in times of shortage and adversity?
“And my God shall supply all your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” (Phil. 4:19)
