“For we who have believed do enter that rest, … For He has spoken in a certain place of the seventh day in this way: “And God rested on the seventh day from all His works”; … For he who has entered His rest has himself also ceased from his works as God did from His.” (Hebrews 4:3-5, 10)
God has a rest for you to enter! We enter this rest by faith, not by feeling – by trusting God to bring us into this supernatural rest. Notice that this rest doesn’t so much enter into you as much as you enter into His rest! Entering this rest involves resting for all our works just as God rested from all His works after the six days of creation. To rest from all our works is not just not going to work, but is to cease all our attempts to earn God’s favor and to rest from trying to produce spiritual fruit through the energy of the flesh.
