“looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” (Heb. 12:2)
Hebrews 12:1 exhorts us to run with endurance in the race of faith. The way to train for this race of faith and run it with endurance is to keep our eyes on Jesus. Follow the example of Jesus who endured the cross. Jesus faced the cross with joy – not by focusing on the present pain of the cross but rather the future results of the cross – you and I! Run with endurance in the race of faith by trusting Jesus to sustain and empower you to run the race well and finish the course. What are you willing to endure in the temporal present age, for the reward in the eternal age to come? In light of what Jesus went through for you, what are you willing to go through for Him?
