Jubilee Statement of Faith

Our beliefs are based on our understanding of the Bible, which we believe is God’s Word and should be the basis for all we believe and do.

1. The Inspired Word of God
We believe the Bible is the inspired (God-breathed), the only infallible (without error), authoritative Word of God, and as such it is a revelation of and from God to man, which reveals truth and shows us how to live (2 Tim 3:15-17; 1 Thess 2:13; 2 Pet 1:21).
2. The One True God
We believe that there is one true God, eternally self-existent, and manifested to man in three persons [Godhead (Rom 1:20; Col 2:9), Trinity]: Father, Son [Jesus Christ] and Holy Spirit (Deut 6:4; Is 43:10-11; Matt 28:19; Luke 1:35; 3:22; Mk 12:29; 2Cor 13:14).
3. The Deity of the Lord Jesus Christ
We believe the deity [as well as the humanity (John 1:1, 14; Matt 16:13)] of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth (Matt 1:23; Luke 1:31, 35), in His sinless life (Heb 7:26; 1 Pet 2:22), in His miracles (Acts 2:22; 10:38), in His substitutionary work on the cross through His shed blood (1 Cor 15:3; 2 Cor 5:21; Rom 5:9; Eph 1:7; Col 1:14, 20), in His bodily resurrection from the dead (Matt 28:6; Luke 24:39; 1 Cor 15:4), in His exaltation to the right hand of the Father (Acts 1:9, 11; 2:33; Phil 2:9-11; Heb 1:3) and in His personal return in power and glory (Acts 1:11; Rev. 1:7).
4. The Fall of Man
We believe that man was created good and upright. However, man by voluntary transgression fell and thereby incurred not only physical death but also spiritual death, which is separation from God (Gen 1:26-27; 2:17; 3:6; Is 59:2; Rom 5:12-19).
5. The Salvation of Man
We believe that man can be saved from his sins only by grace through repentance from sin toward God, and personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, which results in a regeneration by the Holy Spirit (Luke 24:47; John 3:3; Rom 3:24-28; 10:13-15; Eph 2:8-9; Titus 2:11; 3:5-7). The inward evidence of salvation is the inward witness of the Spirit (Rom 8:16). The outward evidence is a life of righteousness (Matt 3:8; Eph 4:24; Titus 2:12).
6. The Ordinances of the Church
We believe in the ordinances of baptism in water and holy communion. Water Baptism We believe that all who repent and believe in Christ as Savior and Lord are to be baptized in water by immersion, which is a public testimony of one’s salvation and personal identification with Christ’s death, burial and resurrection (Matt 3:15-17; 28:19; Mark 16:16; Acts 2:28; 10:47-48; Rom 6:3-4 ; 1 Pet 3:21). Holy Communion We believe that the Lord’s Supper, consisting of bread and the fruit of the vine, should be observed by believers as a memorial of His suffering and death; and a prophecy of His second coming (1 Cor 11:23-26).

7. The Baptism of the Holy Spirit
We believe that the baptism in the Holy Spirit, which is distinct from and subsequent to the new birth, is given to all believers who ask for it in faith (Luke 11:13). This is an endowment of power for ministry and opens the door to the operation of spiritual gifts (Luke 24:49; Acts 1:4, 8; 1 Cor 12:1-11). An initial physical evidence of this Spirit baptism is speaking in other tongues as the Spirit of God gives utterance (Acts 2:4; 10:44-48; 18:1-6; 1 Cor 14:18). This tongue becomes a prayer language for the personal edification of the believer (1 Cor 14:2, 18; Jude 20). The primary purpose of the baptism in the Holy Spirit is power to witness (Luke 24:49; Acts 1:8).
8. The Gifts of the Spirit
We believe the gifts of the Spirit are available to, and should be earnestly sought after by every believer; and need to be activated and exercised to fulfill their divine purpose of blessing the Body of Christ (Acts 2:39; Rom 12:6; 1 Cor 12:1-11, 28, 31; 14:1, 39; 2 Tim 1:6; 1 Pet 4:10).
9. Sanctification
We believe in sanctification, which is an act of separation from that which is evil, and of dedication unto God (Rom 12:1-2; 1 Thess 5:23; Heb 12:14) (Heb 13:12; 1 Pet 1:15-16). Sanctification is realized by recognizing our identification with Christ in His death and resurrection, and by faith reckoning daily upon the fact of that union and by offering every faculty continually to the dominion of the Holy Spirit (Rom 6:1-13; 8:1-2, 13; Gal 2:20; Phil 2:12-13). Sanctification is instantaneous positionally at the point of salvation (2 Cor 5:17; 1 Jn 1:9), and progressively as one matures in conformity to Christ’s image (Rom 8:29).
10. The Church and Its Mission
We believe that the church is the Body of Christ expressed as the church local (Rom 16:5) and universal (Rom 12:5; 1 Cor 12:13; Eph 4:4). It is God’s instrument to establish and extend His Kingdom until the literal coming of Christ to reign over all the earth (Rev 11:15). Each believer born of the Spirit is an integral part of the general assembly (Eph 1:22-23; 2:19-22; Heb 12:23; 1Cor 12:12-27). The church exists to worship the Lord (John 4:23-24), reach the lost (Mark 16:15-16), establish the reached (Matt 28:18-20), and equip the established (Eph 4:11-16) in the power of the Spirit (Luke 24:49; Acts 1:8). The early church’s dual focus on large group celebration and small group cells was greatly used by God and should be incorporated into the modern church’s structure (Acts 2:42-47; 5:42; 20:20).
11. The Five-Fold Ministry
We believe that God has given the church apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers to lead the Church in the fulfilling of her mission (Eph 4:11-16). Without each of the above offices active, the Church cannot be brought into full maturity, nor can she be fully equipped for ministry. We believe the two foundational offices of the prophet and apostle (along with the offices of evangelist, pastor and teacher) will be restored to function in full power and authority before the literal second coming of Christ (Eph 2:20; Acts 3:21). We believe that itinerant ministries should be based out of and related to a local church with accountability to a senior pastor (Acts 13:1; Acts 15).
12. The Unity of the Body of Christ
We believe as members of the same Body of Christ, baptized by one Spirit into one Body, that we must endeavor to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace (Eph 4:3-6; Rom 12:18). Therefore, we should be careful to edify and encourage, and not to criticize or condemn, other members or movements in the Body of Christ.
13. Divine Healing
We believe that divine healing is an integral part of the gospel. Deliverance from sickness is provided for in the Atonement, and is a privilege of all believers (Is 53:4-5; Matt 8:16-17; James 5:14-46). This healing can be received and also ministered to others by various gifts (1Cor 12:8-10).

14. The Resurrection of the Saints and the Return of the Lord Jesus Christ
We believe in the resurrection of those who have fallen asleep in Christ and their translation together with those who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ (Matt 25:31; Acts 1:11; Rev 1:7; 1 Thess 4:15-17; Rom 8:23; Titus 2:13; 1 Cor 15:51-53). Because we don’t know the timing of Christ’s coming, (Matt 24:36; Acts 1:7), we should always be ready and be diligent to fulfill the great commission (Matt 24:42,44; 25:13; Mark 16:15-18; Matt 28:18-20).

15. The Millennial Reign of Christ
We believe Christ will reign on the earth with His saints for one thousand years (Rev 1:7;19:11-14;20:1-6).
16. The Final Judgment
We believe that there will be a final judgment in which the wicked dead will be raised and judged according to their works. Whoever is not found written in the Book of Life, together with the devil and his angels, the beast and the false prophet, will be consigned to everlasting punishment in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death (Matt 25:46; Mark 9:43-48; Rev 19:20; 20:11-15; 21:8).
17. The New Heavens and the New Earth
We believe that, according to His promise, there will be new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells (2 Pet 3:13; Rev 21,22).
18. The Present Truth
We believe that God is continually restoring Biblical truth to the Church, and we desire to receive whatever truth He may reveal in the future which may be hidden presently (Acts 3:21; 2 Pet 1:12).
19. Local Church Autonomy
We believe in the authority of each local church (Acts 13:1; Acts 15). This means that each local church should have the authority to govern itself according to godly government, without interference from an outside institution (denomination, etc.). An autonomous church should still have appropriate spiritual, apostolic covering and could benefit from networking with other churches.
20. Church Discipline
We believe in church discipline, administered in a spirit of meekness and confidentiality, for the purpose of restoring the individual and promoting the health of the body (Matt 18:15-17; Gal 6:1; Rom 16:17; 2 Jn 9-11; 1 Cor 5; 2 Cor 2:6-8; 1 Tim 5:20). We believe that Christians should not bring a lawsuit against another Christian individual or ministry, and that disputes between believers should be resolved within the Body of Christ without going before unbelievers for judgment (1 Cor 6:1-7).
