“Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” (Heb. 12:2)
Last week we looked at our spiritual life being a race we’re to run with endurance. How do we do that? One of the ways is to look unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith. We look to Jesus’ example of running His race by enduring the cross, rising from the dead, and ascending to the right hand of the throne of God. We also look to Jesus to empower us to run our race well. We look to Him to start our race, to get us through each day of the race, and to enable us to finish the race strong. Are you looking to Jesus or to yourself?
