“Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart Be acceptable in Your sight, O LORD, my strength and my Redeemer.” (Psalm 19:14)
The Psalmist prayed that the words of his mouth and the meditation of his heart would be acceptable in God’s sight. Are the words of your mouth acceptable in the sight of God? Is the meditation of your heart (your thoughts) acceptable in the sight of God? The two are connected because out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. (Matt. 12:34)
I challenge you to pray this prayer today that David prayed so many years ago. Notice that the basis of David’s prayer was that God was his Lord, strength, and Redeemer. Only on this basis can our words and thoughts be acceptable in the sight of God. God must be your Savior, Lord and strength for your words and thoughts to be acceptable in the sight of God.
