“How shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation, …?” (Hebrews 2:3)
Notice that the book of Hebrews is being addressed to people we were in danger of ”neglecting” salvation, not ”rejecting” salvation! Of course, there are severe eternal consequences for rejecting the free gift of salvation that God offers each one of us. But there are also severe consequences if we neglect the salvation we have received by not nurturing our faith.
