“And Joshua blessed him, and gave Hebron to Caleb … as an inheritance. Hebron therefore became the inheritance of Caleb … to this day, because he wholly followed the LORD God of Israel. … Then the land had rest from war.” (Josh. 14:13-15)
Even though Joshua “gave” Hebron to Caleb, Caleb had to fight and defeat the giants in Hebron before he received Hebron. “Caleb drove out the three sons of Anak from there: … Then he went up from there to the inhabitants of Debir.” (Josh. 15:14-15) At age 85, Caleb was still taking out giants! God isn’t finished with you yet! I don’t know about you, but I want to be like Caleb when I grow up!
