”For indeed the gospel was preached to us as well as to them; but the word which they heard did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in those who heard it.” (Hebrews 4:2)
The generation that left Egypt had a promise to enter and possess the Promised Land. That generation never did enter the Promised Land! Why not? Because they didn’t mix the word with faith. We must not only read and hear the Word of God, but we must also believe it and obey it. Without mixing God’s Word with faith, we typically won’t profit from the Word. When you hear or read the Word of God, mix it with faith – believe it and obey it and you will experience the fulfillment of the promises of God!
