“Hear, O Israel: You are to cross over the Jordan today, and go in to dispossess nations greater and mightier than yourself, cities great and fortified up to heaven, a people great and tall, …” (Deut. 9:1-2)
”… and you will dispossess greater and mightier nations than yourselves.” (Deut. 11:23)
“When you go out to battle against your enemies, and see horses and chariots and people more numerous than you, do not be afraid of them; for the LORD your God is with you, …” (Deut. 20:1)
What God calls you to do typically requires you to overcome opposition. That opposition is generally bigger than you! If the opposition is bigger than you, how are you going to overcome? By God’s empowering you!
Your part is to trust and obey God.
“For if you carefully keep all these commandments which I command you to do–to love the LORD your God, to walk in all His ways, and to hold fast to Him– then the LORD will drive out all these nations from before you, and you will dispossess greater and mightier nations than yourselves.” (Deut. 11:22-23)
Compare the size of your opposition to the size of your God and His promises, not to yourself!
Remember, bigger targets are easier to hit!
