The king of Jerusalem (Adoni-Zedek) had heard what the people of God had done to Jericho and Ai and how Gibeon had made a covenant with Israel (Josh. 10). He was afraid because Gibeon was a great city, greater than Ai and its men were mighty. So, Adoni-Zedek got the kings of four other cities to join him in attacking Gibeon. When the men of Gibeon saw they were being attacked they cried out to Joshua to save them.
Joshua led the Israelites into battle, and they began to experience victory from the Lord. Joshua commanded the sun to stand still until the victory could be completed and God answered that prayer.
Let’s put our faith out there and ask God for miracles!
