We’ve looked at two examples of God’s people civilly disobeying governing authorities – the wisemen in Matthew 2:1-16 and Shadrach, Meshach & Abed-Nego in Daniel 3. Let’s look at a third example – Daniel in Daniel 6.
King Darius issued a government mandate (executive order) that no one could pray to any god except himself for 30 days or they would be cast into a den of lions. Daniel refused to bow or pray to King Darius and continued praying to Almighty God. As a result, he was thrown into a den of lions. God protected him and those who accused him were thrown into the den of lions and devoured.
What will you do if commanded to bow to anyone or any god except Almighty God?
