A spirit of lawlessness is currently raging in America, especially in some of our largest cities. The root cause of lawlessness is suppressing the truth (Rom. 1:18-28). What is the cure for lawlessness?
1. Make Disciples of all People Groups (Matt. 28:18-20).
“… Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, … teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; … “ (Matt. 28:18-20)
Disciples of Jesus are transformed by the power of Jesus and are taught to obey Jesus, and therefore don’t practice lawlessness. The more disciples we make, the fewer people there will be to practice lawlessness.
2. Speak the truth in love (Eph. 4:15).
“but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ.” (Eph. 4:15)
If we don’t speak the truth about lawlessness, we allow it to go unchecked. Don’t let the Cancel Culture keep you from speaking the truth. But don’t forget, we must speak the truth in love.
Truth without love leads to judgmentalism (and legalism); love without truth leads to liberalism; but truth in love leads to maturism!
